Castanets Soloist
Castanets Soloist

Bio
The CAMerata IberyCAS aims to bring a breath of fresh air to the current Spanish music scene. An unusual formation that combines the classic string camerata with the castanets as a soloist, with the objective of disseminating Spanish chamber music repertoire, especially repertoire with “las castanets” as a solo instrument. Furthermore, our aim is to inspire and invite Spanish composers to expand the repertoire aimed at this group. We have already taken the first step by premiering “La Fantasía Española for Castanets and Chamber Orchestra” by the composer Joaquín Gericó and three movements of Isaac Albéniz' "Suite Española" arranged by the composer Flores Chaviano at performances in Zamora, Arévalo and Segovia. The summer festival of the town of Simancas has chosen CAMerata iberyCAS as the resident group for the 21/22 season. We have also been invited to be part of the 30th edition of the International Music Festival in Medina del Campo, the cycle of the Liceo de Salamanca and in the Benevivere theatre in León.
